Yankee schedule favors MLB bestows on them!

The schedule favor MLB bestowed on the Yankees, when they face the Texas Rangers this year, the team that knocked the Yankees out of the play-offs last year to earn a World Series appearance against the San Francisco Giants, is funny, because it's so obvious.

MLB scheduled three series between the Yankees and the Rangers in 2011. Two at Yankee Stadium, one in Texas.

The first series, at Yankee Stadium, started April, 15th. The Rangers traveled to NY to complete a ten-game road trip. The Yankees had just finished a three game series at home.

The second series, at Texas, starts May, 6th. NY travels to Texas after playing four road games, Texas travels to Texas after playing seven road games. On May, 5th, the early Yankee game at Detroit will end about 4pm EST, the late Ranger game at Seattle will end about 1am EST. The Yankees will be watching the TEX/SEA game, while they eat dinner. Texas will be flying home, in the wee hours of the morning of game one, while the Yankees lay asleep in their beds. Funny how MLB set that up.

The third series, at Yankee Stadium, starts Jun, 15th. Texas arrives in NY after playing four games at Minnesota while NY has played their last seven at home. NY plays Texas on the end of a Yankee ten-game home stand. Texas plays NY in the middle of a Ranger ten-game road trip, their second ten-game road trip of the young season. Another funny! The Yankees have no ten-game road trips all season, Texas has three.

MLB bestowed upon the Yankees/Rangers series this season a "sweet" Yankee schedule. Will the Yankees be able to take advantage? MLB did their best to ensure they would.
